I Say This Every Year...

I know this happens every year, but I am not happy about it.

Yes, our sweet girl is another year older.  Yes, this lovely gift from heaven that arrived on November 3rd at 3:47 a.m. has turned fourteen.  I can't really explain the emotion that bubbles up each year on this day, but it is one that is filled with much happiness, as well as a tinge of grief.  I know that God has only loaned her to us for a short time, but as she is turning into a truly lovely young woman, I can say  that the time seems to really be flying by. I just keep reminding myself how very blessed we are to call her ours.  I sit in amazement that God chose this child for Craig and I to raise.  So often, I feel like He brought her to us so that she could actually raise us...up in Christ...that is.  It wasn't until her arrival that the two of us really began to see the importance of faith and our relationship with Christ.

So on this very special day, our baby woke up to find the birthday fairy had once again graced her bedroom door.

She chose to take us to the zoo.  A very special place, as her Dad and I met there at the age of 16.  Just two years older than what she is today.  In fact, without our chance meeting at this place, she may not be here today.  Amazing how God works when you sit back and take it all in!
Her dad has to stand on his tiptoes to be this much taller than her now.  In actuality, she is just a couple inches shy of surpassing him.
 An evening celebration with family.
A very proud mama...on the verge of tears.  It happens every year!
We love you baby girl...Happy Birthday!
