A Visit With Grandpa Buick

For the past week and a half Grandpa Buick, Cousin Joshua, and Cousin Matthew from Florida came to hang out with us. We had such a fantastic visit. It was packed with many activities including golf, hiking in the mountains, a trip to the Air Force Academy, going to the pool, hanging out watching movies, playing hockey in the cul-de-sac, eating ice cream at Rizuto's, biking around the neighborhood, going to the Garden of the Gods, taking the Cog to the top of Pikes Peak, and of course visiting Fargo's a time or two. We even surprised Joshua with a birthday party. It's hard to believe he turns 15 on August 5th. It seems like just yesterday Grandma Buick and I were making a trip to Florida to visit him shortly after he was born.

Thanks for the fantastic week. It is always fun playing tourist in your hometown!

Joshua is considering applying to the Academy, so a visit to go see it was top on his list of things to do!

Grandpa Buick's favorite pizza on the planet would have to be Fargo's.

Sharing our favorite ice cream shop with our family. Where else can you get a giant ice cream cone for just a buck?

It was a beautiful day on the peak!

Dessert Anyone?

Tonight, Nana stopped by for dinner and we decided to roast marshmallows and have s'mores for dessert. They were yummy!

A little bit of chocolate, graham cracker and roasted marshmallow sure did put a smile on this little girl's face!

Our trusty companion waiting patiently for some leftovers!

In the midst of it all...

Don't you just love lazy summer afternoons? Today, my husband got home around 3:00. We headed out to the frontyard, and laid down in the grass under the tree we planted 7 years ago which is finally providing some much needed shade. Craig was reading the grocery store ads, Ema was reading her latest American Girl magazine, Caleb was sanding the pinewood derby car he and his dad started making this past weekend, and I laid lazily on my husband's lap while I read the latest Country Living magazine. The most relaxing hour spent so far this summer. After a refreshing glass of ice cold lemonade we'll be heading to a local farmer's market to pick up some fresh veggies, and listen to some live music. In the midst of it all...life sure is great!

Our Toothless Boy Wonder

After wiggling his tooth most of the day, Caleb came down in the late afternoon to announce his tooth was bleeding. I said, "Would you just pull it out, already?!" To which he replied, "Not quite yet!" As he was heading upstairs to disgust his sister out, the darn thing fell right out!

Shortly, before Emaleigh lost her 1st tooth, we bought this great book. It is here that we have been able to record all of the momentous occasions of when the tooth fairy made a visit to our home!

One Cute Girl

Our neice, Kirra, enjoying a watermelon pop on Independence Day!

A Soggy 4th

A little depressing, considering all of the rain we've had the past two days, but the good news is the fireworks were already cancelled due to budget cuts!
