One Last Stop

After taking a quick bike ride this morning,

we made one last stop to see the motorcross races that rolled into town yesterday. Caleb really wants his own dirt bike so he was overjoyed to make a quick stop to see them up close!

Maybe one day, son... Like when you're 30!!!

Love notes

On our adventure thru Joshua Tree National Park we noticed many people spelled out their names in rocks along the railroad tracks. The kids decided to come back and try it on the beach. They spelled out their names and We Love You for Grandma and Grandpa. They even found another heart shaped rock (see February's AZ posts) to put in the center of the large heart they made for the word love.

Pool Fun

The kids just love the pool at grandma and grandpa's because it is always so warm! Perhaps our pool at home should up the temperature a bit!

Joshua Tree National Park

Today our journey took us to the Joshua Tree National Park. We talked about stopping here several times before, but the opportunity never lended itself until today. Here are a few photos from our expedition.

This is called skull rock. It looked more like an alien to us but whatever...

Kumbaya My Love....

Tonight Grandpa built a campfire on the beach so the kids both young and old could enjoy roasting some marshmallows and make smores. Surprisingly, both Grandma and Grandpa had never tried a smore before. We were shocked, but insisted they both try it.

A Ride in the Boat and a Hike

Today we took the boat out to do a little fishing. Since the fish weren't biting much we decided to take a hike in the mountains that surround the lake.

We parked on this cove and got out for a brief hike. Turns out that Craig, Caleb and I hiked to the top of the red rock in the center of this picture.

Here's a photo from the top!

Craig on top of the world.

Grandpa and Ema decided to hang out on the boat and fish in the cove.

While it is sometimes hard to appreciate the desert, the cacti in full bloom is a beautiful site!

An Unexpected Car Trip

Grandpa and Grandma called yesterday and asked us to come down to Lake Havasu. With the impending snowstorm arriving we decided to hop in the car and go! Just so sick of winter.

If only it didn't take so long to get there! At least we have some great technology to keep us entertained...dsi's, mp3 players, iPhones, etc!

Actually, we just got finished listening to a great book we got from the library. The Shack, by William Paul Young. I have read it before, but Craig wanted to read it so we got the audio version. Great piece of fiction that weaves the Truth within it's pages. We highly recommend it!

Monday

This is my last Monday off until summer vacation. I am sitting here relaxing a bit before getting ready to to volunteer in Caleb's classroom. I am relishing in the fact that I can do just that--RELAX! I am so blessed to be able to have a life that allows me to have the best of all worlds. Don't get me wrong...life can get CRAZY! But I am just so grateful to God for providing me with great opportunities. I get to be a wife that loves her husband so deeply and passionately. I get to be a mom that loves being with her kids. Whether it be volunteering in their classes, helping them solve a problem, or motivating them to be the best they can be. I get to be a teacher whose life is enriched by the excitement my students have for learning new things. I get to be me. I am planning on enjoying this last Monday by being appreciative for all it has to offer!
