The doorbell rang and standing there were two lovely little girls tied together with some type of package wrapping they found in the street. Upon answering the door, they proudly announced..."We're sisters!" Emaleigh and Taylor have been friends since they were four years old. Both of them have brothers but no sisters. How wonderful to have such a great friend--or rather--sister!

Summer Time is Coming
Today the weather is fantastic. A mild 60 degrees, sunny, no wind. For those of you that have lived here before you understand. One day winter, the next summer! In fact, while it was horrible yesterday, today is just the opposite. In fact, just a few moments ago, the ice cream truck came tootling into the cul-de-sac, much to the children's delight. Don't you remember that sound from your childhood? The sound that made you think your parents would for certain give you the 50 cents to buy a treat? Only to be reminded that you just had ice cream 30 minutes ago and no you cannot have ice cream now. Why do we as parents have to be the ones to dissappoint them? Why couldn't I just tell them of course you can have $3.00 to buy a popsicle. Perhaps it was that I knew I could buy a dozen popsicles for $3.00. I realize it's not the same as going up to a stranger in a big blue truck that plays special music! Next time I am sure I will give in to their childhood desires...and maybe even mine. I really do enjoy ice cream sandwiches. Especially the ones that come from come from a stranger who drives the big blue truck that plays special music!

Garage Sale Mania
Today our cul-de-sac participated in a neighborhood garage sale. My neighbor put the add on Craig's List and Gsale--a garage sale sight. To our amazement, the people showed up prior to the start time, and they kept flowing all morning long. In the variety of sales we have done in our lives, we can honestly say we have never seen so many people at a garage sale before. What shocked us even more was the temperatures. A typical spring day in Colorado. Windy. 45 degrees. Windy. Sunny. Windy. Don't these people believe in staying home when the weather is nasty? We were able to part with a whole bunch of odds and ends and did pretty well considering most things went for 25-50 cents. Our daughter, Emaleigh decided to sell a few things too...only to turn around and buy something from each neighbor. Perhaps she needs to be taught that garage sales are for getting rid of junk...not bringing junk back into the house! The smile on her face when she purchased those handwriting books, a stuffed animal and a box of Pick-Up sticks was worth it though.

Welcome to our Blog
Hello all,
My dearest friend has turned me on the this whole blogging concept. I must say that I am one who is quite behind in the times. Especially when it comes to technology. However, I decided to try creating one for my classroom and realized how simple it really is. Since so many of you live far away, I thought it might be fun for you to check this sight out to keep you updated about the changes in our family from time to time. If you would like to be notified when I have added an entry, just hit the subrscribe button on the bottom and you will receive an email notice. If you just want to check out the site from time to time, I recommend you add the sight to your favorites page. It is much easier than entering the address every time.
In the meantime happy reading

Happy Birthday to Caleb
Today our son turned seven years old. It is hard to believe that seven years ago he joined our family. We are delighted at what a wonderful young boy he has become. For his birthday, we asked him if he would like to have friends over for a party. To which he replied, "I would rather go to Skate City with you guys." Of course we abliged and spent two glorious hours rolling around in circles! How could you turn that request down?
